PIRA Energy Group Sees Natural Gas Vehicles Gaining Traction

Equities -- PIRA Energy Group, a NYC-based energy market consulting firm, has released a special report that addresses both medium- and longer-term natural gas prospects in the U.S. transportation fuel market. PIRA says the sheer volume of U.S. recoverable gas resources relative to expected demand suggests that benchmark Henry Hub gas prices will remain deeply discounted relative to oil prices beyond this decade. Furthermore, the lengthy period of low-cost gas relative to oil has tremendously broadened support for the view that inexpensive North American gas is here to stay. According to the report, by employing off-the-shelf technologies, consumers could be able to accrue substantial savings given the latent expected price advantages of natural gas versus diesel. Such savings can also be attained in

More and More Natural Gas produced, additional fracking to the underground rock strata to extract that Natural Gas, more vehicles produced for Natural Gas or changed over to operate on Natural Gas and vehicles produced to operate with an ability to use 2, 3 or 4 different fuels and the operator can choose which fuel may be the cheapest to use at that time. As more and more Natural Gas is used it can come to a point when the price may go up and up and become higher priced than other fuels. Be careful what you wish for!
Whatever the size or shape of the vehicle, Produce and ‘Drive’ vehicles with high MPG, are very safe, reliable, has a ‘reasonable’ cost and a good ‘value’ for the money.
The price of fuel at the pump is too high!

It will end up driving home heating, water heating, and electricity costs up as demand for natural gas increases.

I'm still waiting for the other shoe to drop, some green group is going to come unhinged by too many Natural Gas burning vehicles on the road ways.

I'll believe it when I see it. I hope that they are not telling us to expect the price of gasoline to stay high which is why Nat gas looks good. Any slight production or transportation disruption will most likely cause large price fluctuations just like oil.

CNG vehicle demand will increase as long as CNG is so low priced compared to diesel and gasoline and savings occur despite the cost to convert vehicles. As natural gas prices increase, demand for CNG vehicles will decline assuming gasoline and diesel prices remain relatively the same or increase less than CNG

Well, I should hope they gain traction.

What moron wrote this from PIRA? We should be voting everyone not in favour of Compressed Natuarl Gas for cars out of office!

It's cheap and it's clean but unfortunately idiots confuse Gas (as in Gaslosine) with Gas ( as in Natuaral Gas). So we are run by stupid voters that know squat unable to force the government into developing a new energy sourcefor cars.

End of story.

If there were sufficient fueling stations I would consider a modestly priced NG vehicle.
