Oh, methane is another name for natural gas and it is 75 times more potent as a greenhouse gas than carbon dioxide is. Hope that they don't let those fracking wells leak. Warren :-)

CO = carbon monoxide and is poisonous, don't run your car in the garage with the door closed unless you want to commit suicide. CO2 = carbon dioxide which is a greenhouse gas and we all breath it out and plants absorb it. So we are reducing a poison and making a slight bit more green house gas. I personally don't believe that man is making enough greenhouse gasses like carbon dioxide and methane to be affect the earth's temperature as much as natural cycles are. We have had glacial periods and warm periods long before we entered the industrial revolution. Clear as mud? Warren :D)

There is a loss of MPG due to ethanol not having as many BTUs as gasoline, but CO is a deadly poison. We don't need anything higher than E-10 and, hopefully, they will come up with a way to make ethanol from cellulose or something that isn't a food or feed. I quit drinking Oct. 31, last year after 50 years. One day at a time I'm staying sober now. Warren :o)

You made a good comment today regarding ethanol (E-10) in fuel. I'm a retired chemist and we require E-10 here in Arizona in the winter when we have temperature inversions that keep pollution like carbon monoxide trapped at ground level. My comment: YES, E-10 reduces the production of poisonous carbon monoxide. E-15 and higher has no added health benefit, no economic benefit, can harm fuel systems and engines and wastes food and feed crops when made from corn. Drive nothing more than E-10 and drink nothing but Jack Daniels Black Label, sour mash (corn) Bourbon. The bit about Jack D. is a joke to lighten it up a little. Your buddy, Warren :-)
